Cahernane House Killarney Wedding Photographer
A Summer Wedding at Cahernane House Killarney | Wedding Photographer Kerry
Katherine and Corey’s elegant June wedding at Cahernane House in Killarney was the kind of day couples dream of when planning a destination wedding in Ireland. A peaceful country house, soft summer light, and that distinctive mix of sunshine and light rain showers that makes Ireland’s landscapes so beautifully green.
Their vision? A relaxed, intimate day surrounded by family and friends, with space to enjoy each moment as it happened. As a Killarney wedding photographer, Cahernane House offered the perfect backdrop for capturing their day naturally and beautifully.
Tucked away on the edge of Killarney National Park, Cahernane House offers the feel of a private country estate while being just minutes from the heart of Killarney town. It’s an ideal setting for couples seeking both elegance and seclusion.
Katherine spent the morning with her bridesmaids in one of the manor’s light-filled suites, where sash windows overlooked the Kerry countryside. Her lace gown, understated yet timeless, felt perfectly at home within Cahernane’s historic interiors. Fabulous make up by Marilyn and Hair by Aisling & Abigale and beautiful bouquet by Maura.
Across the house, Corey and his groomsmen prepared happily, sharing a relaxed morning that set the tone for the day ahead. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Cahernane House is how unhurried everything feels with space and time for couples to breathe and simply enjoy.
Before the ceremony Katherine & Corey had a lovely first look and then we snuck off to Killarney for a quick drink and wander around the town before the hustle and bustle of the wedding started.
The ceremony took place indoors, in one of Cahernane’s private rooms, framed by views of the distant mountains. With natural light streaming through tall windows and simple florals accenting the space, Katherine and Corey exchanged vows surrounded by their closest friends and family.
From a documentary-style wedding photographer’s perspective, Cahernane House offers an intimate and beautiful space for capturing ceremonies without distraction. I stepped back, letting the real moments unfold naturally, laughter, tears, and quiet glances between the couple.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the reception rooms for drinks, enjoying the peaceful setting of Cahernane’s private grounds. Typical of an Irish summer, a light rain shower swept through but rather than dampening spirits, it added a certain romance to the afternoon. Guests gathered under umbrellas, champagne glasses in hand, while Katherine and Corey embraced the rain, laughing as Corey sheltered her beneath a single umbrella.
This mix of sunshine and soft rain created the dream lighting conditions for wedding photography: soft, diffused, and effortlessly romantic. And during some family photos Coreys tie was up to mischief too :D
As evening fell, everyone gathered in Cahernane’s elegant dining room for dinner. Tables were styled elegantly with greenery, soft florals, and plenty of candlelight, letting the surroundings speak for themselves.
What makes Cahernane House weddings feel so special is their intimacy. It’s less like a traditional hotel wedding and more like gathering in a private country house. Katherine and Corey’s speeches reflected that stories were shared, laughter echoed around the room, and quiet, heartfelt moments lingered well into the evening followed by a night of dancing.
